Self Installation 7940-7960

Hooking up the Cisco IP 7940 and IP7960 phones is pretty simple if you follow the chart below. If you have paid for installation, this step is done for you and the phone is set up for every station.

1 DC adapter port (DC48V) for phones that do not have inline power provided to them (non/POE)
2 AC/DC Power Supply (there are two different version)
3 AC power cord
4
Network port 10/100 SW for connecting to the network with a Cat 5e 10 Base T cable
5 Access port 10/100 PC for connecting your phones to your computer.
6 Handset port
7 Headset port
8 Foot stand buttons

Adjusting the Foot stand
To change the angle that your phone sits on your desktop, adjust the foot stand while pressing the foot stand button.

Adjusting the Handset Rest
When you connect your phone, you might want to adjust the handset rest to ensure that the receiver will not slip out of the cradle. See the table below for instructions.

1 Set the handset aside and pull the square plastic tab from the handset rest
2 Rotate the tab 180 degrees.
3
Slide the tab back into the handset rest. An extension protrudes from the top of the rotated tab. Return the handset to the handset rest.
